District Court Traffic Jurisdiction
Marshall County traffic cases are handled through Kentucky District Court, with local access through the Office of Circuit Court Clerk at the Marshall County Judicial Building, 80 Judicial Drive, Unit 101, Benton, KY 42025. The Marshall District Court phone line is 270-527-1721. District Court handles traffic offenses, misdemeanors, violations, city and county ordinance cases, juvenile matters, felony arraignments and probable-cause hearings, small claims up to $2,500, civil cases up to $5,000, mental commitments, domestic violence and abuse matters, and probate of wills.
That jurisdiction matters because a traffic citation is a court case, not a county clerk recording and not a KYTC driver-license transaction. The Circuit Court Clerk is the local court-record access point for District Court traffic files, court dates, costs, ePay questions, certified copies, and older or restricted traffic records that do not appear online.

Search or Pay Through KYeCourts ePay
Marshall County citations that are eligible for online lookup or payment route through KYeCourts public court records guest access. The same guest entry point links to ePay, public court record searching, criminal record reports, ePay instructions, retail or cash payment instructions, and the statewide Terms of Use. Guest access requires the public user to complete the visible reCAPTCHA flow before continuing.
For payment, the ePay guide describes three search routes: case number, party or business, and citation. After a matching result is located, the user selects ePay, confirms the amount, chooses Pay in Full or Partial Payment where available, continues through confirmation, checks the authorization box, and completes card payment. ePay accepts credit, debit, and prepaid cards. Cash payments are made through the Circuit Court Clerk office, and the ePay guide says the balance must be paid at least two days before the court date.
The Kentucky licensing modernization page at KYTC KINDL explains the newer driver licensing system behind myDrive services. That image belongs with traffic records because license status and driver-history checks may now point a Marshall County driver away from the court clerk and into the updated KYTC licensing environment.
KINDL is not the traffic court portal. It is relevant after a citation when the user needs driver licensing, reinstatement, credential, or myDrive information separate from the District Court case.

A public traffic court record can contain more than the ticket number. KYeCourts, CourtNet help, AOC report descriptions, and ePay fields show a case-oriented inventory that may include identifiers, parties, charges, court events, financial fields, and access limits. Some traffic matters are simple payable violations; others require court appearance or connect to misdemeanor, DUI, warrant, or failure-to-appear records.

Court Traffic Record vs KYTC Driver History
A Marshall County court traffic record and a KYTC Driver History Record answer different questions. The court record shows what happened in the District Court case. The driver history shows what KYTC has on the driver record, such as convictions, points, suspensions, license status, and clearance information. Paying a ticket or resolving a court case does not automatically mean every driver-license issue is complete.

Use the District Court Clerk or KYeCourts for the case file; use KYTC when the practical question is points, suspension, reinstatement, or a certified driver-history clearance.

KYTC Fees, Points, and Reinstatement
KYTC driver-history fees are separate from court fines, court costs, and certified court-copy charges. An online three-year Driver History Record costs $6 and is delivered through a confirmation email and download link after card payment. A full DHR cannot be obtained online. In person at a Driver Licensing Regional Office, a three-year or full DHR costs $3; KYTC lists debit or credit with processing fee, money order, or cashier's check, and says no personal checks or cash. By mail, the three-year or full DHR costs $3 by certified or cashier's check or money order payable to Kentucky State Treasurer, mailed with form TC 94-195 to Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Division of Driver Licensing, Attn: Driver Education, 200 Mero Street, Frankfort, KY 40622.
The Kentucky license reinstatement page is relevant when a Marshall County traffic case has created a suspension, unpaid obligation, or clearance issue that goes beyond the public court docket.
Reinstatement questions should be separated from court-copy requests. The District Court Clerk can confirm the court disposition; KYTC controls the driver-history and license-status record.

State Traffic School
Kentucky State Traffic School requires referral by the District or Federal court where the violation occurred. For a Marshall County citation, ask the Marshall District Court Clerk or the court handling the ticket whether referral is available; do not assume enrollment before the court acts. Eligibility in the research includes minor traffic violations only, no license suspension at citation time, no mandatory-suspension conviction, use only once every 12 months, and no eligibility for non-licensed or out-of-state drivers.

Attendance does not show on the three-year public driving record, but appears on the five-year record used by law enforcement, courts, and government.

Pay, Contest, and Request Related Reports
Start by reading the citation for county, court date, citation number, and whether appearance is mandatory. Search or pay through KYeCourts ePay if the citation is eligible. If contesting the ticket, contact the Marshall District Court Clerk before the deadline rather than waiting for a missed court date to create a failure-to-appear problem. Keep proof of payment or the court disposition, then check the KYTC driver history separately if points, suspension, license status, or clearance is the concern.
Traffic crashes and police reports are not the same as District Court traffic records. Benton Police accident reports are available to qualifying individuals 48 hours after filing at $5 per copy. Benton criminal reports are listed at $5, with pictures at $10 and audio/video at $10 where release criteria are met. Calvert City Police reports unavailable online may be bought at the City Hall basement with valid photo ID, a $10 cash report fee, and involved-party status. Those report paths support crash documentation; they do not replace the court case file or driver history.
Scam warning: KYTC warns that text messages claiming to collect traffic ticket or toll payments are scams. KYTC does not collect traffic tickets or tolling fees by text link. For Marshall County traffic payments, use KYeCourts/ePay or the Circuit Court Clerk.
Public Access and Record Limits
KRS 26A.200 treats court records as property of the Kentucky Court of Justice and subject to Supreme Court control, so court-record access runs through the judiciary. KRS 61.872 and KRS 61.878 describe Kentucky public-record request rights and exemptions for many non-court agency records. For Marshall traffic case files, the practical path is KYeCourts or the Circuit Court Clerk, while non-court police or county agency records follow that agency's records process.
Some records are not ordinary public traffic records. Juvenile records are confidential under KRS 610.340 unless a juvenile-law provision or court order allows disclosure. Sealed or expunged cases, mental-health matters, domestic-violence information, Social Security numbers, financial account data, and restricted law-enforcement or prosecutor materials may be withheld or redacted. AOC criminal reports can include traffic case types, but they are summaries and are not the official county court file.
